All About Amie

Experienced, Transparent, Committed to Garden Grove

I am Amie Zeoli, and have lived in Garden Grove's District 4 for 9 years, born and raised in Orange County. I am a two-time alum from Cal State Fullerton (Go Titans!). I am a proud Catholic and member of St Columban's Church, married to my husband Travis, and dedicated public servant for the last 18 years. I am entering the race for District 4's Council Seat because I have seen the challenges this vibrant, diverse community has faced the last decade, and hope to utilize my strong experience and skill set in local government to achieve solutions. I understand city operations and budgeting, with a background in City Finance, Public Works, Fire, and Police.  I plan to embrace this position to achieve practical, efficient, and effective solutions to the challenges facing the community. I walk through District 4 along Lampson, Euclid, Stanford, Acacia, Nelson, Main Street, and Brookhurst daily with my dog, Athena, and understand the needs of this community. I am an experienced musician playing piano and providing piano lessons to the community since 2006. I currently work for the City of Irvine's Police Department, after working for the City of Laguna Beach's Fire Department and appreciate the importance of public safety.

My Promise to District 4

Because I am an experienced public servant, I understand the challenges faced by tightening city budgets, revenue shortfalls, and larger maintenance needs than the City budget can accommodate. Therefore, I plan on achieving these goals for District 4 within my first year.

1. Clean Up-Immediately clean up weeds, dumped furniture, graffiti, trash, and other accumulated items along the sidewalks and neighborhoods.

2. Evaluate the needs of the Garden Grove Police Department-ensure the Police Department is receiving all the necessary funding to help prevent crime, theft, graffiti, and other dangers in the District.

3. Beautification-Allow our Public Works and Parks Departments to beautify the community and neighborhoods with more tree and greenery plantings.

4. Protect and Promote Open Spaces-Ensure our open spaces are not developed for additional housing or buildings. Protect and fight for what little open spaces we have left and encourage the development of more open spaces if the opportunity arises.

Amie's Experience

In addition to holding a Master's in Public Administration from California State University, Fullerton, I have worked for other local city governments for more than 18 years, including:

The City of Laguna Beach Fire Department 2023-2025: Managed the entire multi-million dollar budget of the Department, drafted contracts, staff reports for City Council, Contracts, and managed public records requests for the Department.

The City of Laguna Beach Finance Department 2021-2023: As the Budget Analyst for the City, I analyzed, developed, and submitted the proposed and eventually adopted budget. I managed the city employee purchasing card program and all purchase orders submitted to the City.

The City of Anaheim Fire Department 2018-2021: As a Staff Analyst, I managed the Anaheim Fire and Rescue front desk, life safety billing, Community Risk Reduction Budget, public records requests, and supervised a team of 3.

The City of Anaheim Public Works 2013-2018: As an Office Specialist and Management Assistant, I managed various projects including the installation of electric vehicle charging stations, the city's fuel services contract, the Division's multi-million dollar budget, and fleet and facility maintenance work orders.

The City of Anaheim Community Services 2008-2013: As a Program Specialist, I offered free shade and fruit trees to Anaheim home owners, hosted community events, and ensured residential information was securely entered into databases.
